Urologists use fluoroquinolones more frequently in USA states with high resistance

There has been growing concern about resistance to fluoroquinolones (FQ), and in response, the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the FDA have discouraged the use of FQ for uncomplicated urinary tract and other infections. Columbia Urology' Elias Hyams, MD and Kim Cooper, MD co-author a new article in the International Journal of Urology about urorologists use fluoroquinolones more in states with high resistance – need improved education and closer scrutiny of abx prescribing practices.
