Overview

Dr. Jorge F. Pereira is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s Division of Urology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. He is fellowship trained in minimally invasive urologic surgical techniques.

A native of Miami, Dr. Pereira completed his pre-medical undergraduate education at the University of Miami. He earned a medical degree and completed his urology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Dr. Pereira went on to complete an Endourology fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, RI. His fellowship training concentrated on robotic surgery of the prostate, kidneys and bladder, as well as minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of kidney stones. During his time at Brown University, Dr. Pereira pursued a Master’s Degree in Public Health where his thesis focused on quality improvement in urologic surgery.

Dr. Pereira is a member of the American Urological Association and the Endourological Society. Dr. Pereira has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and book chapters on robotic surgery, kidney stone treatment, BPH, prostate cancer and renal cancer. He has also been an invited speaker to national and international medical conferences.

Dr. Pereira’s clinical interests include kidney stones, robotic surgery, BPH, renal cancer, and prostate cancer. His research interests include robotic surgery, kidney stone treatment, novel imaging modalities, population health, health economics, and healthcare quality improvement.
